The AI-agent-first accounting firm
Accruna runs your accounting with a team of specialised AI agents. They code transactions, reconcile every account, chase documents and keep your reports current — daily, not at month-end. Experienced accountants step in where judgment actually matters.
Accurate books. Brighter tomorrows.
| Close task | Volume | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Bank reconciliation | 1,248 transactions | Reconciled |
| Invoices | 342 invoices | Completed |
| Expenses | 876 expenses | Completed |
| Journal review | 42 entries | Completed |
| Month-end close | All tasks | Completed |
Cadence
Daily
Agents ingest and reconcile new activity every business day. Month-end becomes a checkpoint, not a scramble.
Traceability
Every entry
Each coded transaction keeps its source document, the agent that proposed it, and who approved it.
Target close
5 working days
The close is designed to finish within the first week — with the review queue cleared before it lands.
Our services
Specialised agents handle the busy work, each one accountable for a single part of the ledger. Experienced accountants own the judgment calls behind them.

A fixed checklist run in the same order every period, so the close is repeatable and every sign-off has a name against it.
How it works
A disciplined five-stage pipeline, powered by agents and governed by accounting practice — the same order, every period.
Link your banks, cards, payroll and billing tools.
Agents code transactions to your chart of accounts.
Balances are matched across every account and period.
Accountants resolve what needs context or judgment.
Statements are finalised, signed off and delivered.
Where humans belong
Agents handle repetition at volume. Accountants take the items that carry risk, ambiguity or a decision someone has to own.
Three categories of work are never auto-approved. They leave the agent pipeline and land in a named accountant's queue with the context needed to decide.
Transactions that do not clearly satisfy the expense policy you set.
New counterparties, or vendors outside your normal spend pattern.
Movements against budget or prior period that need an explanation on record.
Each item carries the source document, the agent's proposed treatment and the policy rule it touched — so review is a decision, not an investigation.
A five-day close is a process outcome, not a heroic effort. If it depends on someone working the weekend, the process is wrong.
Accruna operating principle
Close governance
Inside the ledger
No black box. Every agent action is visible, reversible and attributable — so you can hand the file to an auditor without a rebuild.
| Date | Source | Description | Amount | Coded to |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sep 28 | STStripe | Subscription revenue | +$12,450.00 | Sales |
| Sep 28 | AWAWS | Cloud infrastructure | −$320.18 | Software |
| Sep 27 | MCMercury | Card payment — Figma | −$144.00 | Software |
| Sep 26 | GUGusto | Payroll — Sep 16–30 | −$48,920.00 | Payroll |
| Sep 25 | EXExpense | Client dinner — policy check | −$482.18 | Pending review |
A coding suggestion is only as useful as the reasoning behind it. Each line stores the supplier, the amount, the account it landed in, the rule or precedent that drove the decision, and a link back to the original receipt or bank line.
| Account | Statement | Ledger | Difference | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Chase Bank · Operating | $842,109.44 | $842,109.44 | $0.00 | Matched |
| Chase Bank · Payroll | $96,204.10 | $96,204.10 | $0.00 | Matched |
| Amex · Corporate | $41,882.60 | $41,882.60 | $0.00 | Matched |
| Stripe Clearing | $128,660.00 | $128,660.00 | $0.00 | Matched |
| Undeposited funds | $4,120.00 | $3,980.00 | $140.00 | Timing |
Rounding, timing and genuinely unmatched items are separated. Timing differences are tracked to the period they resolve in; anything else becomes an exception with a suggested correcting entry.
Dunning sequences are drafted and queued, not fired blindly. You approve the cadence once; agents keep it running and stop the moment an invoice is settled.
| Task | Owner | Completed | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bank and card reconciliation | Reconciliation agent | Sep 27, 09:12 | Complete |
| Revenue recognition review | Revenue agent | Sep 27, 11:40 | Complete |
| Accruals and prepayments | Ledger agent | Sep 27, 14:05 | Complete |
| Payroll tie-out | Payroll agent | Sep 28, 08:30 | Complete |
| Variance narrative | M. Okonjo, CPA | Sep 28, 13:22 | Approved |
| Statement pack issued | M. Okonjo, CPA | Sep 28, 14:06 | Delivered |
The checklist is fixed and ordered. Each task declares an owner, a completion time and the evidence behind it, so next month's close starts from a known position instead of a fresh inbox.
Who it is for
Accruna fits companies that have outgrown a bookkeeper's calendar but do not yet need an internal finance function.
Seed to Series A
You are still the finance department. Accruna takes the ledger off your desk and keeps it investor-ready, so diligence requests stop being a fire drill.
Series A to C
Transaction volume tripled but headcount did not. Agents absorb the growth in line count; your team keeps the review, the narrative and the decisions.
Agencies and studios
Revenue lands in one system, costs in another, and margin is whatever the spreadsheet says. Accruna ties project revenue to its real cost base.
Ecommerce and subscription
Processor payouts, refunds, chargebacks and fees — high volume, low value, endless to match by hand. This is exactly the work agents do best.
Security and control
Built to a least-privilege model, with human approval on anything that moves money or changes the ledger's shape.
Ledger data, documents and credentials are encrypted in storage and over the wire.
Granular permissions for your team, and separate scoped access for our accountants and agents.
Every agent action, edit and approval is logged with who or what made it, and when.
Payments, journal postings and policy overrides require a named human to approve them.
How we work
These are the standards the practice is built around — and the questions we expect to be measured against.
"Automate the work, never the accountability."
If an agent proposes it and a human approves it, the human's name is on it. We will not hide a decision behind a model.
Close governance
Accruna
"A number you cannot trace is not a number."
Every figure in a report links back to the transaction and the document behind it. No unexplained balances carried forward.
Traceability
Accruna
"Hand you a close you can hand to an auditor."
Workpapers, reconciliations and approval history are kept in a state that survives an audit — not assembled retroactively.
Audit readiness
Accruna
Integrations
Accruna reads from the systems that already hold your financial activity. Nothing gets ripped out and replaced.
Pricing
Every plan includes AI agents, named accountant oversight and the same security controls. Plans differ by entity count, volume and depth of review.
Foundation
For early-stage companies that need reliable books and clean reports without hiring a bookkeeper.
Growth
Most commonFor scaling businesses where the ledger has become a shared dependency across the company.
Scale
For high-growth companies with consolidation, audit and reporting obligations that cannot slip.
Accruna is a service, not a self-serve subscription. Engagements are scoped against your transaction volume, entity structure and review requirements, then quoted monthly. See what shapes the quote.
Questions
If your question is not here, the demo is the fastest way to get a straight answer.
Traditional outsourcing is still a labour model: work queues up, then a person processes it in a batch. Accruna is a process model. Agents work continuously against your ledger, so bookkeeping stops being a monthly event and month-end becomes a checkpoint rather than the start of the work.
The practical difference shows up in three places: the books are current on any given day, every entry carries the reasoning and source behind it, and accountant time goes to exceptions instead of data entry.
Agents own the repeatable work: ingesting transactions, coding to your chart of accounts, matching bank and card activity, capturing receipts, running the close checklist, drafting reports and preparing reminder sequences.
Accountants own anything that carries judgment or risk — policy ambiguity, unusual vendors, material variances, revenue recognition, accruals and final sign-off. No agent can post a journal entry or a payment that requires human approval.
No. Accruna works with the ledger and the surrounding stack you already run — QuickBooks, Xero, Stripe, Ramp, Gusto, Mercury and others. Your data stays in your systems; Accruna operates on it and feeds back the result.
If you want to change your ledger software as part of onboarding, that is a conversation we will have openly, including the migration cost and the risks.
Accruna is accountable for the work we produce, the same as any accounting firm. Every task, review and sign-off is attributed to a named person, and every agent action is logged with the reasoning behind it.
Where an agent proposes and a human approves, that approval is on record. Where an agent acts within pre-approved rules, the rule itself is documented and versioned so you can see exactly what was authorised and when.
Onboarding runs in three stages. First we review your current ledger, chart of accounts and open items to agree a starting position. Then we connect your systems and run a parallel period so you can compare our output against your existing process. Finally we take over the cycle with an agreed close calendar.
Most of the effort sits in stage one. Getting the chart of accounts and account mapping right at the start is what makes every later close straightforward.
Access is least-privilege and role-based. Agents hold only the permissions their specific job requires, credentials are encrypted, and data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Every action is written to an audit log.
You can read the detail — including our access model and approval controls — on the security page.
Engagements are quoted monthly against your transaction volume, entity count, currency exposure and how much review you want. There is no per-seat charge, because the point is that you need fewer seats.
Timing depends mostly on how clean your starting position is. Bring a recent trial balance and a bank statement to the demo and we can usually give you a realistic onboarding window in the same conversation.
